Lunation 13: Goddess Rising

Giving thanks to all Mothers, for they are the Goddess rising...

Inside the belly—the Mother drum—our life in body began

The transformation of spirit into form...

Upon the Earth—the Mother drum—our life in body grows

The transformation of form into function...

Within the cosmos—the Mother drum—our life as embodied spirit flowers

The transformation of function into Being...

We are the Mother drum, our life the heartbeat and rhythm of soul

The transformation of Being into All That Is...

I also give thanks to all website visitors and participants of 13 New Moons Lunar Journal. It has been my pleasure sharing with you.

In gratitude, Jennifer Star

Lunation 12: Beyond

“To infinity ... and beyond!”...

With the courageous and fearless space ranger and explorer Buzz Lightyear as our inspiration, “this Scorpio New Moon [and lunation] is a time to reflect on what seeds are ready to plant for renewed life that is born of passion, intensity and willingness to push the edges into new territory, into the New Earth. It is time to face our fears and shine the light of awareness and transformation on them.” ~Cayelin Castell

Remember ... authentic and deep interaction with the Earth helps change our lives, for “we are pieces of ancient earth, bits of sacred story soaked in intellect and dirt.” ~excerpt by Oak Chezar 2008, in We’Moon 2011

Lunation 11: Upwelling of Spirit

Everyday matters when living our dreams...

Strength is building; an upwelling of spirit is pushing through the crust, out of the shell, leaving the skin of the old self behind. This upwelling nurtures the manifestation of our visions into their new form. It is imperative that we remain present to this collective miracle.

“In this new age cynicism is an indulgence we cannot afford. Let no beauty go unnoticed. This is how we gain mastery in the art of living, through the genius of a radical peace.” ~excerpt by DV Trimmer 2009, in We’Moon 2011

As we acknowledge the beauty of each moment, we must also keep on with our dreaming and envisioning. “Dreamseeds ignite the fire for new revolutions. Dreamseeds are the heart stone for empowered choices and conscious change.” ~excerpt by JoAnne Dodgson 2009, in We’Moon 2011

But here’s the rub. Taking into consideration the recent equinox that encompassed all Earth, let us look to how we are, or are not, living a life of reciprocity and balance. Are we giving and receiving equally in all our relationships (self, partner, family, work, community, country, world)? If not, then now, during this planetary stellium in Libra*, is the perfect and perhaps crucial opportunity for movement into a more balanced way of living and expressing and relating. We are all clearly deserving and in need of this.

Let us, then, focus our heart-centered motives and intentions for balance through the lens of an authentic generosity of spirit. Let us receive the required guidance for this journey toward balance by beginning from (or returning to) a place of silence, tuning in to the music of the spheres so that the wholeness of our being, the ecstasy of embodied spiritual life, is felt, understood, embraced. From here, in this upwelling of spirit, balance is possible and most certainly beneficial for us all.

*Note: Libra stellium at New Moon consists of Mercury 2°, Moon and Sun 4°, Venus 15°, Saturn 18°, and Juno 20°.

Lunation 10: Transformation

Creating beauty from that which challenges...

Deep we are in the process of transformation. This place requires much compassion and a helping hand as our extension into that which is becoming accelerates. It is as if we are pushing through the crust of the Earth, but with no certainty of where we will emerge or if we will succeed. The chaotic nature of this random uncertainty can be unnerving, yet it opens many possibilities for balancing and bridging the dark unseen realms with the illuminated seen realms.

Our growth, however chaotic it may seem at times, appears to be leading us on to the next level of our evolution. With complete trust in our eventual flowering, a stable platform for the upcoming step can be revealed and, with regards to the collective, the most beneficial action and placement of our energies to aid in our transformation can be determined and subsequently carried out—supported by the strength of our spirit and our establishment in space and time.

Really, what better service could we be giving than, in this moment, nurturing our collective dreams and visions of the future by gushing—right now—abundant fruits of goodness from the inviolate core of our heart and soul. When given freely, spontaneously, and without limitation to all life, the resulting harvest fills the air, our hearts, and our spirits with a peace that touches the holy and mirrors our true nature. A peace that, when achieved, has no lack and therefore no need but to be.

There is such a deep and complex richness to the cycles of life we are engaged in as embodied beings. By the very friction our existence generates—a resistance point, a challenge—energy is created that then experiences itself, transforms itself, and realigns itself with greater purpose. And thus, we truly are creating beauty from that which challenges.

Lunation 9: Abundance

Extending gratitude for all we’ve envisioned, received, given...

Generosity is essential for abundance on Mother Earth to flourish and for successful manifestations of our visions to move into form—the spiritual gift of life. For when our true desire is to become the fulfillment of life rather than to possess the fulfillment of life, the abundance we’ve been envisioning and tapping into has room to grow and spread. The intelligence of our hearts is at work here as we share with each other information that transcends space and time as we know it, bridging all appearances of separation and lack. For contained within this shared information is an ability to recognize the essential nature of our manifestations, the purity of form and abundance, moving beyond patterns of error so that our experiences are in line with the true intent of cosmic order.

As Julio Ollala said, "Without gratitude, there is never enough." So in order for us to fully receive and know abundance, gratitude helps us understand that life itself is a gift from All That IS, and with gratitude there is enough. When we reach that knowing and total awareness, we also understand that consciousness is participating in our transformation as we envision the future. In addition to gratitude, another key to knowing and experiencing abundance (the love All That IS extends to us) is that we must begin by experiencing self-love authentically—that first dynamic which ripples out infinitely and is the glue that holds all form together. And these love ripples are like the attraction that occurs with opposite poles of magnets—that  which, when finally connected, brings a feeling of greater Wholeness as all we require to live and thrive comes to us in abundance.

Lunation 8: Mother Line

Nurturing our visions...

Within the mother line resides the arousal of consciousness, awakening Earth and all life to a self-conscious perspective, an awareness of what IS throughout all space, all time. Paradoxically, this place is full and empty, the emptiness filled with Divine energy where we can experience Oneness with All—where our hearts and souls are at peace. As we move about in the emptiness, a friction builds up that causes a transformation, a creative interfacing with form, because we are resistors in the flow of Divine energy. Through us, energy from the cosmos is transformed into the messages humanity needs to receive. These messages are delivered along the path of the Beauty Way, interweaving the harmonic threads of spirit, nature and form into unique gifts that we can see, touch and taste—our visions of the future made manifest.

So, as we nurture the visions and dreams of the potential future that was seeded in the 7th Lunation, a relationship with the Void is essential, for the Void is the mother line—the womb of the cosmos, the sacred whirlpool of primordial energy, the full emptiness from which all manifestation comes forth. And these manifestations are the eternal flowers in the great garden of sentient life—an evolutionary process that has total memory of all potentials for all futures, all that is, and all that has or could have been. Therefore, we have begun, with our heartfelt visions, to establish stability upon the cosmic grid, and the placement of our dreams upon this grid to root and manifest into form. From this place, let us keep our focus on the specific frequency our visions of a new earth paradigm transmit, calling forth a reply from the cosmos that says, “Yes! This is it! This is the new way.”

Lunation 7: Creative Surges

Envisioning the future...

“They who sang us into existence are singing our next age now, and their song can lift us—and make us ready. ... When this music comes into the world, it will fill us and change us, [and our] hearts will be tuned to a true note. ... We will know what to do to care for our precious world, and harmony and beauty will be the air that we breathe, and the ocean we all swim in will be love.” ~excerpt by Angela Galik 2009, in We’Moon 2011

Luna is about to express three creative surges—June and July’s New Moons feature partial solar eclipses that open and close an eclipse cauldron, with the total lunar eclipse at Full Moon of 6/15 at its center. This New Moon’s eclipse activation is “opening a portal of unprecedented transformation” according to Cayelin Castell. Within this surge of creativity and unprecedented transformation lies an opportunity to envision the future. There is great creative power in this eclipse cauldron, so let us now heartfully focus in on how we want our future to look, to tune into our future selves for guidance and encouragement.

Using multi-media collage as the medium for expressing our visions is a great start. Will you join in? Below are 8 questions to guide you in envisioning the future using multi-media collage (cut-and-paste using magazine images and words, photographs, colored papers, etc.):

1) Imagine the world you would most like to live in. What is this world like and how is it different from today’s world?

2) When you imagine the ideal world of the future, what changes stand out as most important?

3) How were the problems of war, poverty, human and animal exploitation, and environmental destruction solved?

4) What role did you play?

5) What does a compassionate, just, healthy world for all look like?

6) What do you want to contribute in creating a better world?

7) How do you see your vision becoming a reality?

8) What is the overall feeling of this world you have envisioned?

Lunation 6: Self Celebration

Ahhh...

the celebration of

one’s life...

The sweet joy in knowing

the truth,

that you are enough,

more than enough

a blossom of magnificence

e.g. wise 2006, in We’Moon 2011

The Aries stellium, although still quite active, is experiencing a loving “embrace” by the conjunct Moon and Sun in Taurus, and Neptune and Chiron in Pisces. To me this feels really lovely and really important—a supportive repose from the radical and rapid journey we’ve been on. Then, as Cayelin Castell says, “The Taurus New Moon is a great time to seed intentions for experiencing and receiving the beauty and pleasure of life... This can be further facilitated by taking time to notice: what feels good, what feels supportive, what feels enjoyable? What simple day-to-day occurrences enhance the experience of healthy spontaneous pleasure?” And how can we creatively and lovingly embrace what we have discovered about ourselves—both what we like and don’t like—during the rapid growth? Many sensuous hugs with self and beloveds may be a key to that door, a door that opens to dwelling in possibility and hatching a new idea in a changing world.

Let us then engage, as the Aries stellium continues through this lunation, in a “Self celebration” that lovingly acknowledges and cherishes all the devoted efforts we have made, and continue to make, during a rapid growth phase of awakening our conscious selves. At this Taurus New Moon portal, we are being offered and encouraged to gratefully receive life’s gifts, to relax and slow down for a moment so as to sacredly and sensually savor who we truly are in our heart and soul, individually and collectively. This repose fills us with all we need for the next leg of the trip.

Lunation 5: Intimate Currents

Rapid growth into new territory...

Who am I? Who are we? Retrograde Mercury in Aries turns everything inward, and these are the questions to ask at this fiery Aries stellium where, if open to and prepared for the journey, we are awakening the consciousness of Self. The impetuous and individualistic nature of Aries is strong during this lunation and beyond, yet it is being challenged by the opposition to Saturnian structure in relationship oriented Libra at the New Moon portal.

Within these intimate currents the “I” is staring at the “we”, and if there is little to no authenticity of the “I” within the “we,” then relationships could burnout if out of balance. However, even amidst a highly polarized place, there is much potential for breaking free from the polarization. Fire does not always destroy, it also transforms and creates. Liberation is at hand, then, as we experiment with being our authentic selves. Be curious, yet be gentle. Respect the powerful and transformational nature of fire, whether your individuality is secure within a relationship or not, by taking decisive, intelligent action for the “I” in “we.”

Joining the Aries stellium (which began in earnest 3/20 when the Sun moved into Aries) is Luna on 4/2, following on the heels of Mars on 3/31. The New Moon stellium lineup—Mars 1°, Black Moon Lilith 1°, Uranus 1°, Moon 13°, Sun 13°, Jupiter 15°, Mercury 23°R—lasts through 4/4 when the Moon moves into Taurus, the Sun later moving into Taurus early on 4/20 with Venus then joining Aries on 4/21, and finally both Mercury and Venus moving into Taurus on 5/15. Needless to say, the Aries stellium is quite prolific and long-lived, giving us plenty of opportunity to develop our authentic individual selves within the context of intimate currents.

Lunation 4: Women on the Move

Do you feel it?!?!…

We are awash with the gentle, loving energies of a Piscean stellium at this New Moon portal, with Chiron, Mars, Sun, Moon, Mercury, Black Moon Lilith and Uranus encompassed within 1° to 29°. Immerse yourself in and drink deeply from this nurturing bath of universal love in service to all life. Feel the embrace of this powerfully feminine element, including all the earth women on the move who are midwives for and giving birth to the next expression of form.

“The Goddess wakes... This is Feminism now: becoming Sisterhood—politician, priestess, and protester working together, sharing what it means to be Woman, everywhere. Our linked hands and strong hearts are a power: the Goddess is returning through each one of us and we are bringing deep changes. We are dreaming in a future that gives hope to the World, we are women's voices rising: strident, beautiful—and heard.”

~excerpt from "This World" © Rose Flint 2009, in We'Moon 2011. www.poetrypf.co.uk

Luna joins the Pisces stellium on 3/3, following on the heels of Mars on 2/22. The New Moon stellium lineup lasts through late 3/5 when the Moon moves into Aries, with Mercury then moving into Aries on 3/9. This gives us a solid two-week period of this sweet Piscean energy involving six key mover and shaker celestial bodies.

What I am feeling in these Piscean waters is that through love we have been dreaming up and are now merging with the next expression of our embodiment. If we allow it, we can flow deeply with, be receptive to, and flexible in that which is shifting to the new expression. The strength of the feminine/yin element is the starting point that holds and carries us forward.

Lunation 3: New World Coming

There is a new world coming...

Imbolc Prayer: Blessed be the earth, and all who dwell upon it. We give thanks for the season now departing from us, for the blessings it has bestowed upon us, and upon those with whom we share this world. Blessed be the new season. We pray that it will be a time filled with peace, with abundance, with prosperity, with wisdom, with love. Blessed be all who share this world. Let us now prepare for the time ahead by opening our hearts, and our minds, and our spirits. Blessed be.            ~author unknown

With a stellium in Aquarius at this New Moon portal (Ceres, Sun, Moon, Mars, Neptune and Chiron), combined with Solar and Lunar Imbolc and the Chinese New Year of the Rabbit, we are poised on the cutting edge of revolutionary change. Yes indeed, there is a new world coming! Let us look forward to a new season of humanity, and all life on earth, as we continue navigating our way through the turbulence and chaos that often comes with transition and transformation. Let us embrace the peaceful, calm, gentle, yet persistent energy a Rabbit year can bring us. Yes, we need moments of calm, however we also need to remain persistent in our movement through these transitory times. May we be blessed with truly knowing when we must rest, when we must move.

Lunation 2: The Wild

Pointing the way towards center...

Our origins come from the wild, that place of creation where being who and what we are without casting judgment lives. Let us revisit this familiar realm.

“Let me take you to the wild place, where spiders make homes out of living things and the earth never lets us go. Let us go to the wild place, where time is counted on the beats of wings and the silver hush of moonlight. Let us be silent in the wild place, remembering the density of our bones and the burgeoning tide of breath. I breathe in, you breathe out. A cricket hesitates, something opens.” —Danielle Rainville 2009, in We’Moon 2011

Fueled by the Full Moon lunar eclipse at winter solstice, this New Moon solar eclipse is a “release point, an alchemical concentration of energies aligned with humanities destiny, being released toward Galactic Center,” says Cayelin Castell. “This is a time when it might be useful to intend that all energetic distortions are being gathered up and sent to Galactic Center to be recycled and renewed at this Super New Moon.” Let us then envision a collective arrow aimed straight and true toward its mark at the center of our creation, carrying with it all that no longer serves us so as to be transformed and returned to earth, once again pure and wild.

Lunation 13/1: Coming Full Circle & Shifting Ground

And in the end, the beginning was revealed...

We are coming full circle during this lunation for the lunar and solar year, shifting ground and moving from the dark, long nights in the northern hemisphere to the arrival of increasing light. As we dance with the final days of expanding darkness up to Winter Solstice—the balsamic phase of the solar year—we have a great opportunity, and perhaps even a responsibility, to deepen our commitment to releasing the old and tired, and discovering and living the truth of our newly emerging being-ness.

Interestingly enough, the moon will be waxing as the solar year is waning, culminating on 12/21/2010 at 12:13 am PST with a total lunar eclipse of the Full Moon—visible in all of the Americas in the wee hours and longest night just prior to the exact Winter Solstice (3:39 pm PST) later in the afternoon. Certainly there is a changing of the guard taking place during this lunation, and especially at the Full Moon/Winter Solstice. This lunation is a time to pay close attention to where your thoughts are, what your dreams are, what is hidden, and what is being revealed to you on every level.

As with the balsamic phase of the lunar cycle, ask yourself: What do I need to compost as this cycle ends, and how will I prepare for the next cycle?
